In photos: Daily clashes in Bethlehem amid heightened tensions

Palestinian youths in Bethlehem have clashed near daily with Israeli forces over the past two weeks near Rachel's Tomb amid heightened tensions following the murder of Palestinian youth Muhammad Abu Khdeir and Israel's ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip.

The protests have been violently dispersed by Israeli forces, with at least three youths shot with live ammunition and receiving medical treatment at Beit Jala hospital.

Israeli forces have fired tear-gas canisters, stun grenades, rubber-coated steel bullets and Skunk water at protesters, with dozens treated at the scene by paramedics.

On Friday, scuffles broke out between protesters and Palestinian Authority security forces, who formed a barricade to prevent youths from reaching an Israeli military watchtower.
