Israeli police detain 2 Palestinian women in Jerusalem

Dec. 30, 2014 6:05 P.M. (Updated: March 8, 2015 12:39 P.M.)
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Tuesday detained two Palestinian women in the Old City of Jerusalem, a local committee leader said.

The head of a committee for prisoners' families in Jerusalem said Israeli police detained Sabah Abu Hadwan, 38, and her daughter Alaa Ayyoub Abu Hadwan, 21, at the Chain Gate entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

The women were taken to the Beit Elyahu police station.

Israel occupied East Jerusalem in 1967 and later annexed it in a move never recognized abroad.
