BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- More than 1,000 Palestinians attended the funeral of 13-year-old Abed al-Rahman Obeidallah on Tuesday after he was shot dead by Israeli forces a day earlier.

The funeral procession filled the streets of Aida Refugee Camp, where Obeidallah was shot close to his heart during clashes with the Israeli military and pronounced dead shortly after.

The 13-year-old was the second Palestinian to be shot and killed by Israeli forces in a 12-hour period.

Clashes have swept across the occupied Palestinian territory as Israelis launched violent reprisals following two deadly attacks carried out by Palestinian individuals that killed four Israelis over the past week.

Dozens of Palestinians have been injured by both Israeli settlers and soldiers, with the Red Crescent reporting 500 injuries between Saturday and Monday.

Clashes broke out in Bethlehem after Obeidallah was buried in the refugee camp cemetery, adjacent to the Israeli separation wall.
