Clashes erupt in Salfit village during Israeli raid

Oct. 12, 2015 5:25 P.M. (Updated: Oct. 12, 2015 5:25 P.M.)
SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Dozens of Palestinian youths clashed with Israeli forces on Monday when soldiers raided Yassuf village in Salfit district, locals said.

The youths reportedly threw stones at Israeli military vehicles in the north of the village.

Israeli forces responded by firing live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and tear gas, injuring at least one youth with a rubber-coated steel bullet in his foot.

Many were reported to have suffered excessive tear gas inhalation, and fires were reportedly sparked by the tear gas canisters.

Tensions have spiraled across the occupied Palestinian territory since the beginning of this month, with more than 1,300 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli forces.
