TULKAREM (Ma'an) -- Israeli military forces detained eight Palestinians after raiding several areas in Tulkarem overnight Thursday, locals said.

Witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli soldiers detained Haitham Ahmad Shuli, Abd al-Nasser Othman Tweir, and Abd al-Rahman Burhan Sarhan from Tulkarem refugee camp.

The other Palestinians arrested in the district were identified as Badran Saleh Muhammad Saleh, Hamzeh Shawqi Thannabeh, Rami Khalil Khader Hamshari, Fawzi Samir Zubeidi, and Salman Salim Alaria.

An Israeli army spokesperson said four Palestinians were detained in Jenin for illegal activity while one Hamas "terror operative" was detained north of Bethlehem.

The spokesperson had no reports of arrests in Tulkarem.
