Palestinian police arrested 156 alleged fugitives at Allenby Bridge crossing in July

JERICHO (Ma’an) -- Palestinian police detained 156 alleged fugitives in July at the Allenby Bridge crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan, Palestinian security forces said in a statement on Monday.

In its statement, Palestinian police said that 247,013 passengers traveled through the crossing in July, with 123,212 leaving the West Bank for Jordan, while 123,801 crossed into the occupied territory during this period.

Police said that 156 people were arrested while attempting to travel through the crossing in and out of the West Bank, adding that they were “wanted for criminal charges” and barred from traveling.
