Gunman opens fire on Jenin-area village, arrested by Palestinian police

JENIN (Ma’an) -- An unidentified gunman opened fire in the village of Bir al-Basha in the northern occupied West Bank district of Jenin on Monday morning, Palestinian security sources said.

Police spokesman Luay Irzeiqat said in a statement that after the man opened fire on the village “causing chaos and panic,” Palestinian police, national security services officers, and military intelligence officers were later able to track him down and arrest him, he said, without providing further details.

No injuries were reported.
