BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Seven were injured Friday afternoon in a car crash between a Palestinian vehicle and an Israeli military jeep on Route 60 near the entrance of illegal Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba in east Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank, with Israeli police treating the incident as an accident.

Israeli police spokesperson Luba al-Samri said in a statement that seven people were lightly injured while another obtained medium injuries, including four Israeli border guards. Al-Samri did not clarify if the remaining three injured were Palestinian.

Al-Samri added that all injuries were transferred to hospitals for treatment as the Israeli police opened an investigation into the details of the case.

Israeli sites reported that the Israeli military vehicle flipped over colliding with the Palestinian vehicle, only mentioning that four Israeli border officer were injured, with no mention of Palestinian injuries.

It was unclear from the Israeli police statement and media reports which vehicle had caused the collision.
