Israeli soldier stationed at Lebanese-Israeli border commits suicide

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- An Israeli soldier stationed at the border between Israel and Lebanon committed suicide by shooting himself Wednesday, according to Israeli media reports on Thursday.

Israeli news sites added that the Israeli soldier was taken to a hospital in an attempt to save his life, but he died before arriving to the hospital.

Reports added that the Israeli army opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the soldier's suicide.

The identity of the soldier remained unknown.

An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the death of the soldier to Ma'an, and said they were looking into if the incident was a suicide.
