Jan. 10, 2017 7:51 P.M. (Updated: Jan. 11, 2017 11:04 P.M.)
QALQILIYA (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces set up military checkpoints at the entrances of several villages in the eastern part of the occupied West Bank district of Qalqiliya on Tuesday night, following a car accident between a Palestinian vehicle and an Israeli military jeep, leaving a Palestinian woman with moderate injuries.

Locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces erected checkpoints at the entrance of the city of Qalqiliya, and the villages of Azzun and Hijjeh. Israeli forces searched Palestinian vehicles in the area and checked IDs of any passengers, locals said.

Earlier on Tuesday, a 40-year-old Palestinian woman, identified as Aman Khleif, was injured in a car accident with an Israeli military jeep near eastern Azzun.

Locals told Ma’an that Khleif is from the village of al-Nabi Eliyas in eastern Qalqiliya. She reportedly sustained moderate injuries during the incident.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an she would look into reports. There have not been any reports of deliberate wrongdoing in connection with the accident.
