Abbas inaugurates Palestinian Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday inaugurated the Embassy of Palestine in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

Palestinian Authority (PA)-owned news agency Wafa reported that Abbas and the prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony and raised the flag of Palestine in the presence of a Palestinian delegation and Pakistani officials.

Earlier this month, Abbas traveled to Italy where he met with Pope Francis and inaugurated the first Palestinian embassy in Vatican city.
