GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian man was shot and injured while he was traveling in his private vehicle on the coastal road near the al-Zawayda neighborhood in the central besieged Gaza Strip.

Witnesses told Ma'an that they saw unidentified gunmen fire at the vehicle, hitting the driver in the chest.

He was evacuated to al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Gaza police said they were investigating the case.

Separately, spokesman for Gaza's Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qidra told reporters that two people were injured in an "accidental" explosion in the central Gaza Strip. He said the two sustained shrapnel injuries and were evacuated to al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, without giving more details.
