HEBRON (Ma'an) -- A woman was detained on Sunday after she and accomplices allegedly tortured and killed a Palestinian man and discarded his body on the side of the road near a hospital in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron on Saturday night.

Palestinian police spokesman Luay Irzeiqat said on Sunday that the body of the victim, 29-year-old Nida Mahmoud Abdullah Khalayla from the village of al-Samu, was found outside of the Yatta government hospital, and was taken to the Hebron governmental hospital in order to be examined by a coroner.

Irzeiqat added that police later detained a young woman, who admitted during interrogation that she was involved in Khalayla’s murder.

The suspect reportedly told interrogators that she lured the victim to go with her to a restaurant in Hebron City, when her accomplices helped her kidnap him and took him to a location in the city where they tortured and killed the young man.

Irzeiqat did not mention the motives behind the murder, but said that surveillance camera footage helped identify the other killers, adding that Palestinian police couldn’t detain them because they had run away to an area under Israeli jurisdiction.
