Bethlehem (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained two young Palestinian men from the Gaza Strip on Monday morning after they passed the border fence between the besieged coastal enclave and Israel.

An Israeli army spokesperson said in a statement that military forces monitoring the border spotted the two after they crossed the fence. She highlighted that the two did not have any weapons, and were taken in for questioning.

There are regular reports of Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip -- which marked its tenth anniversary under a crippling Israeli blockade in June -- attempting to cross into Israel.
