BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- US government officials at the White House hosted a welcome reception on Thursday in honor of Palestinian students arriving from Gaza to participate in the YES program which provides scholarships for high school students from countries with significant Muslim populations to study for one academic year in the United States, according to official Palestinian Authority (PA) Wafa news agency.

US Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt hosted the reception that was attended by head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Delegation to the US, Palestinian ambassador to the US Husam Zomlot, representatives from the US Departments of State and Education, as well as representatives of the US agencies sponsoring the student exchange program.

The Head of the PLO Delegation conveyed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' greetings and wishes for success to the students, and his thanks to President Trump and his Special Advisor Mr. Greenblatt for their “support of Palestinian people particularly in the field of education.”
