BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained five Palestinians before dawn on Friday in the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli sources.

Israeli media reported that Israeli forces raided the northern West Bank district of Jenin, where they detained three Palestinians from the Yaabad town. The three were identified as Ibrahim Said Abu Bakr, Jarir Muhammad Zaid and Muhammad Said Amarneh.

In the southern West bank district of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained a “youth” identified as Mustafa Jamal Hamamreh from the Husan village after raiding and searching his home.

Israeli forces also reportedly found a hunting rifle while searching a house in Hebron city. The owner of the house was detained, however, his identity remained unknown.

An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the five detentions to Ma’an.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to United Nations documentation, Israeli forces conducted 121 search and arrest operations across the West Bank and arrested 205 Palestinians, including nine children, between September 26 and October 9.

Prisoners’ rights group Addameer recorded that as of August, there were 6,279 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prison.
