BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least seven Palestinians overnight between Saturday night and Sunday morning from the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) released a statement saying that five Palestinians were detained from the West Bank.

According to the statement, in the northern West Bank, three Palestinians were detained from the Balata refugee camp in Nablus city, while a young Palestinian man was detained at a flying checkpoint between Tulkarem and Jenin for allegedly being in possession of a knife.

One Palestinian was detained during raids in the Hebron district, according to PPS.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that seven Palestinians were detained during overnight raids.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to United Nations documentation, Israeli forces conducted 196 search and arrest operations across the West Bank, including nine children, between October 10 and October 23.
