Palestinian workers injured after ceiling collapse in Israeli settlement

Dec. 5, 2017 7:09 P.M. (Updated: Dec. 5, 2017 8:30 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Five Palestinian workers were injured on Monday during a construction accident inside an Israeli settlement in the southern occupied West Bank.

Israeli media reported that fire and rescue teams treated five people for light to moderate wounds sustained during a ceiling collapse in the Israeli settlement of Beitar Illit in the Bethlehem district.

Tens of thousands of Palestinian workers are forced to seek a living by working inside Israel and and illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank due to crippling unemployment in the West Bank, as the growth of an independent Palestinian economy has been stifled under the ongoing Israeli military occupation, according rights groups.
