Hundreds of Palestinians march in funeral of 22-year-old Khalid al-Tayeh

Feb. 7, 2018 1:39 P.M. (Updated: Feb. 8, 2018 11:59 A.M.)
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Thousands of Palestinians marched in the funeral of Khalid Walid al-Tayeh, 22, in the Iraq al-Tayeh village, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

Al-Tayeh died on Tuesday evening after succumbing to a live bullet wound to the chest, which he sustained during clashes with Israeli forces in Nablus city earlier in the afternoon.

During the funeral procession, mourners chanted slogans condemning the Israeli occupation, as people carried pictures of al-Tayeh and Palestinian national and factional flags.

The march set off from the al-Jamia Hospital towards al-Tayeh’s family house where final farewells were said before carrying his body to the village’s mosque for prayers, and then to the village’s cemetery for burial.
