BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli soldiers assaulted and broke the arm of a Palestinian woman as she attempted to prevent them from detaining her son before dawn on Friday, in the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

Locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided the home of Bassam Abu Aisha in the Jabal Abu Rumman neighborhood of Hebron, in order to detain his son Saed.

During the raid, Bassam’s wife attempted to prevent soldiers from taking her son. The soldiers assaulted her and broke her arm.

The soldiers also allegedly confiscated an undisclosed amount of money from Abu Aisha’s home.

Also in the Hebron district, Israeli forces raided the town of Dura and searched the house of Hamas leader Ayed Dudin. Dudin had recently been released from Israeli prison after finishing a one-year-and-a-half sentence.

Israeli forces raided several homes in the town of Beita Awwa in the southern Hebron district, including the home of former prisoner Nabil Masalmeh. No detentions were reported.

In the Hebron-area town of Beit Ummar, local activist Muhammad Ayyad Awad told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided the al-Turbeiqa area of the town and searched a home belonging to Hilmi Shibli Abu Ayyash.

Awad added that soldiers also delivered an interrogation summons notice to Abu Ayyash.

He pointed out that youths of the town threw rocks at Israeli soldiers who fired tear gas canisters in the area.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians from different areas of the West Bank.

Israeli forces detained Palestinians identified as Muhammad Hamdan Mirweh from the Askar refugee camp in Nablus, Bilal Ali Assi, Ahmad Amin Marie and Musaab Moussa Marie from Qarawat Bani Hassan in Salfit.

Israeli forces claimed, in a statement, that a detainee from Nablus was armed, in addition to allegedly finding weapons and money to “fund terrorism” -- an M-16 gun and live ammunition, in a house in Hebron.
