RAMALLAH -- (Ma’an) A Palestinian teenager died on Wednesday after succumbing to wounds sustained during protests in the central occupied West Bank last week.

The Palestinian ministry of Health confirmed that 15-year-old Adi Akram Abu Khalil from the Ramallah district was shot in the stomach last week by Israeli forces during protests in the town of al-Bireh, adjacent to Ramallah.

The body of Abu Khalil was taken to his family home for burial and a final farewell on Wednesday.

Hundreds of mourners from his hometown carried his body in a funeral procession to the town’s mosque, where worshipers performed the noon prayer.

Afterwards, the teen’s body was taken to the cemetery of the village to be buried.
