Israeli forces detain 28 Palestinians in East Jerusalem, West Bank raids

BETHLEHEM -- (Ma'an) Israeli forces detained 28 Palestinians during predawn raids in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on Monday, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS reported that Israeli forces detained 15 Palestinians from the central West Bank city of Ramallah, the adjacent town of al-Bireh, and the al-Amari refugee camp, where 13 Palestinians were injured during a violent raid.

PPS identified the 15 Palestinians as Mohammed Jihad Al-Hamshari, Musa Nasser Samara, Islam Muhammad Abu Humaid, Wafa Khalil Idrees, Alaa Mohammed Al-Helou, Ghazi Ghalud and his son Rami Glaud, Jamal Jaber and his son Alaa, Ayed and Raed Alaa, Feras Al Masri, Louai Al Masri, Ahmed Amater, Iyad Eid, and Nasr Abu Humaid.

In the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians, including two former prisoners, Hossam Abu Dayya and Saleh al-Harimi, who were recently released after spending 18 years in Israeli prisons, according to PPS.

The third Palestinian was identified as Wajdi Nayef Jaradat.

Three Palestinian teenagers were also detained in the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, and were identified by PPS as Abd al-Razeq Munther Sharqieh, 18, Laith Maaruf Neaman, 19, and Hmlar Salah Aatili, 18.

In East Jerusalem, PPS said that seven Palestinians were detained from several neighborhoods in the city, including a woman, Khawla Sabeeh, who was detained after Israeli forces shot and injured her on Sunday night. According to PPS, she is being held at the Shaari Tzedek hospital.

The other detainees from Jerusalem were identified as Issa Meteb, Mohamed Hagej, and Said al-Ajlouni, Qusay Dari, Yousef Issa Mustafa, and Atta Ezz Derbas.
