BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot, injured and detained a Palestinian man, as he allegedly attempted to enter the illegal Israeli settlement of Har Brakha, near the northern occupied West Bank city of Nablus on Tuesday morning.

Israeli media reported that Israeli forces deployed near the settlement spotted two Palestinians and opened fire on them, injuring one while the other fled the area.

The Israeli army said in a statement that the Palestinian man was shot in the legs and was treated by Israeli forces on the scene before being detained. The man, whose identity remained unknown, was said to be in “moderate to serious condition.”

Israeli forces are still searching the area for the second Palestinian who fled the scene.
