Palestinian youth injured by Israeli gunfire succumbs to wounds in Hebron

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian youth succumbed to his wounds sustained from gunshots fired by Israeli forces in 2009, in southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, on Sunday.

According to the Fatah movement, Yacoub Fayiq Nassar, was wounded since 2009 when Israeli forces shot the youth in his back, in the al-Fawwar refugee camp, in Hebron district.

The gunshot to Nassar’s back caused partial paralysis. Nassar was suffering from this injury for many years, also suffered from kidney failure, and recently had one of his feet amputated.

Israeli forces have long been criticized by the international community for their use of excessive force against Palestinians, and what rights groups have termed their policy of “extrajudicial execution” in instances where Palestinians who did not pose a direct threat to the lives of soldiers could have been detained in a non-lethal manner.
