Israeli forces detain two Palestinians, 6 foreign activists near Hebron

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained two Palestinians and six international solidarity activists, during a protest against the seizure of land in al-Hamra neighborhood on Saturday, east of occupied West Bank Hebron district.

According to local sources, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians and identified them as journalist and Palestinian TV cameraman, Eyad Abed al-Hafith al-Hashlamon, and the Deputy Coordinator of the Human Rights Defenders, Badi al-Dweik.

Israeli forces detained six foreign solidarity activists who protested alongside Palestinians.

Sources added that following the detentions, Israeli forces assaulted Palestinians and several foreign activists, and forcibly removed them from the area.

The 20 dunams (4.94 acres) of Palestinian land belonging to the family of Adeis, has been under threat of seizure for the expansion of the illegal Israeli settlement of Bani Hefer.

The peaceful protest organized by The Palestinian Arab Resistance Movement, had several landowners, farmers, and foreign activists participate in solidarity with Palestine and against the illegal confiscation of Palestinian land.
