Israeli forces detain 6 Palestinian youths during predawn raids in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least six Palestinian youths during predawn raids in Silwan neighborhood, in the central occupied West Bank district of Jerusalem, on Sunday.

According to Wadi Hilweh Information Center, Israeli intelligence and forces stormed the Silwan neighborhood and detained six Palestinians.

The six detainees were identified as Ahmad Eyad al-Rajbi, 13, Ahmad Nethal al-Rajbi, 13, Ahmad Jameel al-Sulwadi, 15, Adnan Eyad al-Rajbi, 16, Ahmad Younes Abu Sneineh, 16, and Mahdi Jaber, 19.

Israeli forces claimed that the youths were detained for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at an Israeli settler house in Jerusalem district.

Israeli raids in Palestinian cities, towns and refugee camps are a daily occurence.

According to Palestinian prisoners rights group Addameer, as of April, there are 5900 Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons, 291 of them are child prisoners, 49 of them under the age of 16.
