Israeli forces confiscate Palestinian-owned land in Hebron

July 9, 2018 2:19 P.M. (Updated: July 10, 2018 12:52 P.M.)
HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces confiscated 10 dunums (2.4 acres) of Palestinian land in the Wad al-Hussain area near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern occupied city of Hebron on Monday.

Activist, Jamal Siefan, a resident of the area, told Ma'an that the Israeli forces confiscated the 10-dunum land in order to build an army camp.

The land belongs to Palestinian Mahmoud al-Bouti.

Israeli forces had set up a camp opposite of the land confiscated, about a month ago, which is located beside the illegal Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba, where they placed concrete cubes and mobile homes within the area.

Siefan added that Israeli forces seem to be attempting on closing off the whole area and turning it into a military zone, preventing Palestinians from reaching their homes and moving freely through their lands.
