Israeli forces detain 29 Palestinians in overnight West Bank raids

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 29 Palestinians during predawn raids across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained one Palestinian from Hebron City in the southern West Bank district of Hebron; he was identified as Udayy al-Umour.

Another four Palestinians were detained from the Yatta City in the same district; they were identified as Muhammad Jibrail al-Umour, Rami al-Najjar, Muhammad Jibriin, and Ahmad Jibriin.

In the Shufat refugee camp in the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, four Palestinians were detained after Israeli forces raided the camp; they were identified as former prisoner Omar Muhussein, Mahmoud Saadi al-Adwein, Misbah Abu Sara, and Abdullah Abu Sara.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians; PPS identified them as Ibrahim Ahmad Faraj al-Tamimi, Nassim Husni al-Barghouthi, Amr Muhammad al-Taleb al-Barghouthi, and Ayoub Husni al-Barghouthi.

Israeli forces detained two former Palestinian prisoners in the same district, from the Beituniya village; they were identified as, Saed Abu al-Baha and Sami Abu Hussein.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, one Palestinian was detained after Israeli forces raided and searched his home, he was identified as Moussa al-Srouji, 21.

In the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank district of Jenin, five Palestinians were detained after Israeli forces carried out raids throughout the camp; they were identified as Wissam Abu Zeid and Ahmad al-Tayyeb Jaradat and his three sons Tamer, Saber, Raouf.

PPS confirmed that Israeli forces raided several villages across the Jenin district and detained another eight Palestinians; they were identified as Awni Adnan Kamil and Issam Youssef Sabaaneh, Hussein Youssef Duhmaz, Abed al-Hakim Saleh Moussa, Muath Moussa, Fadi Hussein al-Atrash, Burhan Mustafa al-Atrash and Muntaser Musbah Abu Alia.

Israeli military night raids into Palestinian cities, towns, and refugee camps are a near daily occurrence.

In addition, PPS stated in a report in which they monitored 84 cases of detentions of Palestinian women and young girls during the first half of 2018. PPS stated that when it came to cases of detentions and high sentences in prison, Israeli forces continued to specifically target Palestinian females, not excluding minors, elderly or medical patients.
