Israeli forces detain 11 Palestinians across the West Bank

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 11 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank during predawn raids on Wednesday, according to Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS).

According to an Israeli army spokesperson, Israeli forces found and confiscated weapons during raids in the southern West Bank districts of Bethlehem and Hebron.

Israeli forces also confiscated an amount of money during raids.

In Hebron, five Palestinians were detained and identified as Omar Muhammad al-Hih, Ziad Banat, Mousa Mustafa al-Najjar, Issa Iyad Shalaldeh, and Ziad al-Nawajaa.

Israeli forces detained two Palestinians from Bethlehem, PPS identified them as Maher Farouq Abu Aker and Sameh Hammad Mansour.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Issa Iyad al-Shalaldeh.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, another three Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces; they were identified as Muath Thuqan (son of Palestinian prisoner Ghassan Thuqan,) Hassan Bkheit, and Ali Tesir Zakar.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies confirmed that the number of Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in Israeli prisons has increased to 513 Palestinians.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,900 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
