Israeli forces detain 20 Palestinians, including woman, elderly man

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 20 Palestinians, including a woman and an elderly, across the occupied West Bank on predawn Tuesday.

According to Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) Israeli forces detained a Palestinian woman, who was identified as Kifah Hijazi al-Zeer al-Husseini from the southern West bank district of Hebron.

PPS confirmed that al-Husseini is the fifth Palestinian woman to be detained by Israeli forces from the Hebron district since the beginning of June 2018.

Israeli forces detained another four Palestinians from the Hebron district; they were identified as Ibrahim Khalil Abu Dayyeh, Ahmad al-Daghamin, Muhammad Imad Khalil and Saif Kassab Abu Dayyeh.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Muhammad Tahsin Hajahreh.

In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained another Palestinian identified as Hazem al-Ajluni.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh, five Palestinians were detained; PPS identified them as Ahmad Mahmoud Nakhleh, Abed Samaadeh, Muhammad Samaadeh, Saher Dabour and Zaki Fayiq Atta.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, Israeli forces detained three Palestinian youths; they were identified as Adham Salmi, 19, Ahmad Rayyan, 16, and Karim Hussein, 16.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, another three Palestinians were detained; they were identified as Mahmoud Adel Zayed, Luay Hamdan Samudi, and Abed al-Salam Salah Kamil.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, two Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces; they were identified as Samer Ibrahim Sadeq Taama, 29, and Shadi Khalil Abu Khudra, 70.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,900 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, 60 of whom are female prisoners.
