Abbas meets with Jordanian King in Amman

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with the Jordanian King Abdullah II in Jordan's capital of Amman on Wednesday.

Abbas and Abdullah held talks in the presence of the Jordanian Crown Prince, Hussein bin Abdullah.

The Palestinian President and Jordanina King discussed latest developments in Palestine and the Arab world; they also discussed updates on the Palestinian cause and political calls regarding the cause under the permanent coordination between the two leaderships.

The meeting also discussed ways of addressing challenges facing Jerusalem and holy Christian and Islamic sites.

Following the meeting, delegations from both sides joined Abbas and King Abdullah for lunch.

The Palestinian delegation included Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, member of the Fatah Central Committee and head of the Civil Affairs Authority, General Majed Faraj, head of the General Intelligence, and Palestine's Ambassador to Jordan Attallah Kheiri.
