JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Three Israeli citizens suffered injuries due to rockets launched from Gaza towards southern Israel.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, in the southern Israeli town of Sderot, four Israeli settlers suffered light to moderate injuries due to the violent escalation between Israel and Gaza since late Wednesday.

All three injured Israelis were immediately taken to Ashkelon's Barzilai Medical Center for treatment.

Sources added that several others suffered panic attacks.

According to the Israeli army, eight rockets were launched at southern Israel from Gaza around 7:40 p.m. Two of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system and at least two of them landed in Sderot.

Sources confirmed that one of the rockets landed on a house in Sderot.
