RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- The Israeli military court of Ofer extended the detention of a Palestinian journalist for five days for alleged further interrogation.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said, in a statement, that Israel is accusing journalist Ali Dar Ali, 34, of incitement via his social media pages.

Dar Ali is a reporter for Palestine TV and was detained from his home in the Burham village in northern Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, during predawn detention raids on on Wednesday.

Palestine TV has condemned Ali's detention, adding that it is part of Israel's policy of targeting the Palestinian media.

According to a report by the Palestinian Prisoners and Former Prisoners' Affairs Committee, with the detention of Dar Ali, there are currently more than 20 Palestinian journalists in Israeli prisons.
