Israeli forces detain 10 Palestinians, including minor

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 10 Palestinians, including a minor, during predawn Monday raids across the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained a Palestinian former prisoner from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

He was identified as Jamal Karameh, who was detained under the pretext of rejecting a summon notice sent two days ago by the Israeli authorities.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, five Palestinians were detained; PPS identified them as Majdi Abu Aker, Yasin Badr, Raafat Salah, Mansour Salah and Muhammad Issa Ghneim.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, four Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces; they were identified as Qassam Abed al-Karim al-Barghouthi, Ward Issam al-Barghouthi, Mumen Kifah al-Barghouthi and 16-year-old Abida Muhammad Qattusa.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,820 Palestinian prisoners currently being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 270 are child prisoners, and 50 are under the age of 16.
