Israeli forces detain 25 Palestinians, including two minors

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 25 Palestinians, including a teen and a child, during predawn raids in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) confirmed that Israeli forces detained five Palestinians from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

The detainees were identified as Khdeir Younis Awad, 12, Abdullah Bassam al-Tit, 16, Muhammad Issa Bahr, 19, Mussab Radwan al-Khalil, 23, and Taher Asafra.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, three Palestinians were detained and identified by PPS as Seif Shreim, Muhammad Adel al-Zir and Sharif Taleb al-Zir.

In the Silwan neighborhood of the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, Israeli forces assaulted and detained two Palestinians; they were identified as Izz Samrin and Tareq Ruwadi.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh, four Palestinians were detained; they were identified as Tamer Subhi al-Hajj, Muhammad Safi, Mahmoud Abu Rabie and Ahmad Muhammad al-Bayed.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, Israeli forces detained a 45-year-old Palestinian, who was identified as Thabet Jawad Abed al-Karim.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, five Palestinians were detained; PPS identified them as Muhammad Hassan Ghurra, Raed Ali Abu Maala, Amer Hashem Kamil, Ali Yousef Kamil and Ziad Arsan al-Qilani.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, Israeli forces detained another five Palestinians. They were identified as 21-year old Baraa Issam Rihan, Hamza Tabanja, Farouq Abisi, Ahmad Abu Ghalyun and Ahmad Suleiman Samhan.

According to Palestinian prisoners rights group Addameer, as of July, there are 5,820 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, 270 of whom are child prisoners, and 50 are under the age of 16.
