BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained two Palestinians on predawn Sunday during raids in the village of Beit Fajjar in the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem.

Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that two Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces.

PPS identified them as Hani Abdullah Ahmad, 19, and Ahmad Samih Taqatqa, 24.

Israeli forces detained the two after they raided their home and thoroughly searched it.

The detentions carried out by Israeli forces mostly occur during overnight raids in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,820 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
