JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a former Palestinian prisoner in the Issawiya neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem, on Monday evening.

Muhammad Abu al-Hummus, member of a local follow-up committee, told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided the Palestinian neighborhood of Issawiya and detained a female former prisoner.

Abu al-Hummus identified the detainee as Sundos Abed.

Sundos has previously spent five months in Israeli prisons and was released in late 2016.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,820 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 63 are female prisoners.
