Sept. 7, 2018 4:07 P.M. (Updated: Sept. 7, 2018 5:25 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Two Palestinian children were injured as an unexploded Israeli ordnance blew up while the children were playing near it in eastern Gaza City in the central besieged Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the two injured girls were transferred to the al-Shifa Hospital in the city for treatment.

Dr. Ayman al-Sahbani, head of the emergency department at the hospital, told Ma'an that the girls are 4 and 5 years old and has sustained medium to light injured as they were hit with shrapnel from the suspicious object that blew up.

Unexploded ordnance left by Israeli airstrikes and assaults at the Gaza Strip are a major threat to Gazans.
