Sept. 7, 2018 5:07 P.M. (Updated: Sept. 7, 2018 5:25 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Five Palestinians were injured by Israeli rubber-coated steel bullets, on Friday afternoon, during protests on the outskirts of the Ras Karkar village in the central Ramallah and al-Bireh West Bank district.

Palestinians and activists protested against Israeli confiscation of Palestinian lands in the Ras Karkar village and surrounding areas.

Locals said that Israeli soldiers deployed in Jabal al-Risan, Kafr Nimeh, Ras Karkar and Kharbatha used rubber-coated steel bullets, stun grenades and tear-gas bombs to suppress protesters.

Israeli forces also detained two Palestinians after assaulting them.

Protesters called for revoking Israeli plans to confiscate lands belonging to Palestinians from Ras Karkar and surrounding villages for settlement expansion.

Three Palestinian photojournalists were injured by Israeli forces, last week, during clashes that erupted between Palestinians and Israeli forces following protests in Ras Karkar.
