Israeli forces detain 14 Palestinians, including minors

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 14 Palestinians on predawn Thursday across the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained five Palestinians in the southern West Bank district of Hebron; they were identified as Ahmad Khader Abu Hashem, 52, Hazem Abu Awad, Alaa al-Zaaqiq, 28, Abed al-Hamid al-Battat and Wisam Geith.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, six Palestinians were detained; PPS identified them as Yahiya Salah, Ismail al-Barghouthi, Adli Farah al-Rimawi, Elayyan al-Hindi and his son Amr al-Hindi and Muhammad al-Dara al-Rimawi, who was released soon after.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, Israeli forces detained and identified as Bassam Yasser Abu Shadouf.

PPS also confirmed that two Palestinian teens were detained after being summoned for interrogation, they were identified as Seif al-Din al-Umour, 14, and his brother Nour al-Din, 14.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,781 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, 270 of whom are child prisoners and 50 of them are under the age of 16.
