Italian motorcycle rally in solidarity with Palestinians

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinians alongside international activists organized a solidarity rally in Italy, on Sunday, as a form of expression of their rejection of United States President Donald Trump's latest decisions and in support of the Palestinian people.

Dozens of motorcycles drove through several Italian cities under the slogan "Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Palestine."

Participants waved Palestinian flags, chanted slogans against Israel's violations and expressed their support for the Palestinian people and the Palestinian leadership's diplomatic efforts.

The rally finished in the Italian capital, Rome.

The participants were received by the Palestinian embassy counselor, Omar al-Faqih and his staff, and Youssef Salman, President of the Palestinian Community of Rome and Lazio.

Trump's recent decisions caused outrage among Palestinians, as well as in the international community.

The rally was organized as a form of rejection towards decisions such as the closure of the PLO office in Washington, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, ending all funds to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and cancelling $20 million in aid to Palestinian hospitals in occupied East Jerusalem.
