Israeli forces detain 6 Palestinians in East Jerusalem

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least six Palestinians, including two minors, during predawn raids on Tuesday in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) confirmed that Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from the Silwan and al-Tur neighborhoods; the detainees were identified as Muhammad Abu Ghannam, 16, Adnan al-Rajabi, 16, and Mahdi Jaber, 20.

Israeli forces detained another three Palestinians from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound; PPS identified them as Anas al-Dabbagh, Ali Bkeirat, who are both staff members from the Islamic Endowment Department (Waqf), however, were later released from detention.

The third detainee from the compound was identified as Muhammad al-Hamouri.

PPS added that Israeli forces delivered a summon notice to Imad Abdin to show up for interrogation.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,781 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, 270 of whom are child prisoners and 50 of them are under the age of 16.
