Israeli forces detain 12 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 12 Palestinians, during predawn raids on Thursday, from across the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained one Palestinian in the southern West Bank district of Hebron; he was identified as Safwat Rafiq Tmeizi.

In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, five Palestinians were detained; PPS identified them as Tawfiq Najib, Hisham Bashiti, Mustafa Abu Sneineh, Musaab Sajdiya and his brother Ahmad.

PPS also confirmed that Israeli forces detained five Palestinians in the northern West Bank district of Nablus. They were identified as Samer al-Shantir, Ayman Imad al-Shakhshir, Muhammad Azzam Hamdan, Qais Hamadna and Amir Hamadna.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Muath Amawi, 21.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,781 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
