Israel declares Tubas area closed military zone

TUBAS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces declared parts of the Khallet Hamad area in northern Tubas district in the northern occupied West Bank, a closed military zone, on Friday.

Local sources said that Israel declared the upper area of Khillet Hamad a closed military zone starting 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday.

Israeli settlers have been touring the area since Friday morning under armed security by Israeli forces.

Sources pointed out that Israeli settlers repeatedly raid the area and prevent local farmers from herding their sheep.

The Khallet Hamad area is located near an Israeli settlement outpost that was built two years ago in Tubas.
