Palestinians reportedly open fire at Israeli soldiers near Ramallah

Sept. 29, 2018 12:32 P.M. (Updated: Sept. 29, 2018 2:41 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Armed Palestinians reportedly opened fire at Israeli soldiers deployed at an Israeli checkpoint near the illegal Beit El settlement next to Ramallah City in the central occupied West Bank, late Friday.

No injuries were reported among soldiers.

A Ma'an reporter said that Israeli forces searched the area for shooters; soldiers stopped vehicles leaving the al-Bireh City, that is by the checkpoint, searched the vehicles and ID cards of passengers before entirely closing the checkpoint.

Israeli soldiers also searched the stores at the Ramallah-al-Jalazun road by the al-Jalazun refugee camp in the area.

Clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers following the incident, during which Israeli forces heavily fired tear-gas bombs.
