Israel releases Palestinian after 16 years of imprisonment

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities released a Palestinian prisoner, on Sunday afternoon, after spending over 16 years in Israeli detention.

Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that Rami Zeidan, from the Ramin village in the northern occupied West Bank district of Tulkarem, was released by Israeli authorities.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,781 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
