Israeli forces injure Palestinians along Gaza borders

Oct. 1, 2018 12:25 P.M. (Updated: Oct. 1, 2018 12:25 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A number of Palestinians were injured by Israeli live ammunition on late Sunday along the eastern borders of the besieged Gaza Strip.

A Ma'an reporter said that Palestinian protesters took to the borders calling for an end to the nearly 12-year siege imposed by Israel; Israeli forces fired light bombs towards protesters to disperse them.

Medical sources told Ma'an that seven Palestinians were injured across various areas of the Gaza Strip; three of whom were injured east of the return camps of the al-Breij refugee camp in central Gaza, two east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza and the two others injuries were east of Jabaliya in northern Gaza.

The identities and conditions of those injured remained unknown.

For the past few weeks, hundreds of Palestinian protesters, have been organizing, as well as participating in night protests, during which they set tires on fire and chant slogans through loud speakers, while marching towards the border with Israel. These protesters are also known as the "Night Confusion" unit.
