Israeli forces close Beit El checkpoint until further notice

Oct. 3, 2018 12:57 P.M. (Updated: Oct. 5, 2018 12:09 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces closed the Beit El "DCO" military checkpoint in the northern part of the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh in both directions on Wednesday.

The checkpoint was closed to Palestinian traffic passing through in both directions until further notice, due to a massive car accident; the number of injuries by the accident remained unknown.

Israeli forces ordered Palestinians to use an alternative route in the meantime.
Palestinian communities are routinely subjected to arbitrary road closures by Israeli military forces for purported "security reasons," an act which rights groups have denounced as amounting to collective punishment.
