Palestinian detained allegedly attempting to cross Gaza border fence

Oct. 4, 2018 11:19 A.M. (Updated: Oct. 4, 2018 12:01 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Israeli army announced, on Wednesday, that a Palestinian was detained after allegedly attempting to cross through the Israeli-imposed security fence in the northern besieged Gaza Strip.

Hebrew-language news media reported that an Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the detention of a Palestinian who attempted to cross the border fence in northern Gaza into southern Israel.

A knife was reportedly found in the Palestinian's possession.

Sources added that the Palestinian was transferred for interrogation.

The identity of the detained Palestinian remained unknown.

Israeli forces regularly detain Palestinians attempting to cross into Israel from the besieged Gaza Strip, which has suffered under a decade-long military blockade by Israel and Egypt.
