Ma'an organizes documentary production contest

JERICHO (Ma'an) -- The Ma'an Media Network opened a training course in production of documentaries in a film contest between Palestinian universities, on gender issues.

Director General of Ma'an Media Network Raed Othman opened the course by explaining to participants that the project is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Spanish Cooperation; Othman also explained the importance of such films in promoting the concept of gender.

Othman stressed on the need to work on the production of short films from the Palestinian society's reality and the daily lives of Palestinians.

On the first day of training, participants were introduced to the general concepts of gender and the image of women in media presented by Nahed Abu Tueimeh, Head of the Gender Unit at Birzeit University’s Media Development Center.
